Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about consultations, pricing, cancellation policies and health insurance coverage.

How long do consultations last and what do they cost?

Initial appointments last up to 1 hour and are priced at €140 (incl. €15 non-refundable admin fee). Follow-up or review appointments last up to 30 minutes and are priced at €70 (incl. €15 non-refundable admin fee).

Review fee €70 (incl. admin fee). You can book and pay securely online, or call Mary directly at 087 412 8948 if you prefer assistance. Receipts are issued for tax rebates and health insurance claims.

What is your cancellation and refund policy?

A strict 24-hour cancellation period is in operation. A non-refundable administration fee of €15 is included in your appointment fee. Cancellations made later than 24 hours prior to your appointment, or non-attendance without adequate notice, will have the full appointment fee applied and are non-refundable.

Can I claim back fees through health insurance or tax relief?

Yes. It is policy to issue formal receipts which may be used for tax rebates via revenue.ie and for outpatient health insurance claims (such as Vhi, Laya or Irish Life), depending entirely on the specific terms of your individual insurance plan. We recommend checking directly with your provider regarding your cover.

Do I need a doctor’s referral to book?

You do not need a medical referral to book an appointment. However, sharing relevant medical history, past investigations or recent blood test results from your GP or consultant is highly beneficial to ensure a comprehensive clinical assessment. GPs and consultants can also send referrals securely via Healthmail (patients should not use this address) to marybourkeprivateclinic@healthmail.ie.
